On September 18, 1925 the town counsel of Waymart met to discuss the need for a fire company. A motion was made to create an organization called the Waymart Volunteer Fire Company. In 1925 the first set of Line Officers went as follows:

Chief   John Hiller
Assistant Chief   Mr. Fielding
Fire Marshall   W. G. Cramer
Assistant Fire Marshall   Harvey Megargle
President   Elmer Ruit
Secretary   John Beam
Treasurer   W. C. Williams

For the first few years, the fire company met in the town hall until the fire hall was built in 1928. This new fire hall that was built is pictured below.

The first meeting to be held in this fire hall was on June 11, 1928.

In June 1965, the Waymart Volunteer Fire Company purchased a lot from member M.L. Kennedy across from Vail's Gas Station on Carbondale Road in Waymart, for the location of the new fire hall. A picture of this hall being built is below.

This hall was fully constructed and funded by volunteers. In April 1967, the hall was totally finished and the trucks were moved into the new hall.

Below is all the previous Line Officers since the Company first started. Click on the Officer title to see all the names.
