Plane crashes outside of Waymart
On Sunday July 5, 2009, Company 43, Rescue 75, Company 94, Waymart EMS, and Mobile 9 were dispatched to Stone Bridge Lane in Clinton Township at 17:47 hours for a small plane that had crashed. 75 Captain arrived on scene to report a small plane over a ravine with one patient. This small plane apparently lost power on the approach to the landing strip, slamming to the slide of a ravine, coming to rest on some downed trees. The pilot was still in the plane when emergency services arrived. The plane was immediately secured preventing it from sliding down the hill side into the stream below. Once extricated by Rescue 75, the pilot was treated by Waymart EMS and Mobile 9 then transported to CMC hospital. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Story from Station 43
