dispatched for fire
police on Farview
Mountain. 75 RUV,
Brush, and personnel
worked for three
hours on multiple
vehicles and tractor
trailers stuck in
many different spots
on Farview Mountain
and Carbondale Road.
Right after we leared
from the fire police

Waymart has busy
morning on Tuesday!
Four calls starting
with a working
structure fire!
On the morning of
Tuesday, February
10, 2009, Station 75
had an early start
to what ended up
being a very busy
morning. The morning
ended up consisting
of a working
structure fire, a
one car MVA, a
possible brush fire,
and a assist to PSP.
At 02:12am Station
75 and Waymart EMS
were dispatched to a
working structure
fire at Paul's
Garage on Canaan
Road in Waymart.
Chief 75 (Derrick)
first to arrive on
scene
reporting a
fully involved,
single story
commercial building
fire, and requested
a second alarm.
Rescue 75 responded
within five minutes
of dispatch, arrived
on scene,
established water
supply, and
initiated the fire
attack. Ladder 18
(Clifford) and other
units were requested
to the scene. Ladder
18 and Ladder 13
initiated an aerial
attack from either
end of the
structure. After the
fire was knocked
down, an extensive
overhaul operation
took place with much
man power and an
excavator. Crews
were on scene until
mid Tuesday morning.
Later in the
morning, the fire
was ruled arson by
PSP. Our thanks goes
out the Salvation
Army for helping
with food and drinks
on scene, to the
Gravity Inn, and to
all other people
that helped us.
While the fire was
taking place, Station 75
and Waymart EMS were
dispatched for a one car
MVA on farview mountain
just past Gibney's.
Chief 75 relocated
Engine 42 and Squad 62
to handle the MVA.

Next, when all units
from Station returned to
the station and were

small brush fire on
Farview Mountatin near
Gibney's. All units were
cancelled by Chief 75.
Finally, to end the
morning, Rescue 75 was
requested to respond
back to the fire scene
to assist PSP while they
were investigating.

Plane crashes outside
of Waymart
On Sunday July 5, 2009, Company 43, Rescue 75,
Company 94, Waymart EMS, and Mobile 9 were dispatched to Stone
Bridge Lane in Clinton Township at 17:47 hours for a small plane
that had crashed. 75 Captain arrived on scene to report a small
plane over a ravine with one patient. This small plane apparently
lost power on the approach to the landing strip, slamming to the
slide of a ravine, coming to rest on some downed trees. The pilot
was still in the plane when emergency services arrived. The plane
was immediately secured preventing it from sliding down the hill
side into the stream below. Once extricated by Rescue 75, the pilot
was treated by Waymart EMS and Mobile 9 then transported to CMC
hospital. The cause of the crash is under investigation by the

Haz-Mat Spill in

spill and determined that it was an unknown vehicle that leaked a
black substance over a 2 and a half mile section of roadway. Once it
was determined the spill posed no potential danger, Penn-DOT crews
spread a sand mixture to mitigate the spill.
