2 Brush fires on Friday

Motorcycle Accident on 296 South
The morning of April 24, Station 75, Waymart Ambulance, and Mobile 9 were dispatched to a 2 car MVA rollover at the four corners in Waymart. There was no entrapment with minor injuries. On this day, Station 75 was also dispatched to an Automatic Fire Alarm at the Sponia Camp Building.
Burn Ban in Waymart!!!!
John Millard, Mayor of Waymart, has announced that open burning is prohibited in the Borough of Waymart, This is pursuant to Chapter 7 of the Waymart Code of Ordinances (Information from Wayne Independent).
 
Hectic Sunday!! Breakfast Buffet and MVA
On Sunday, April 20, 2008, was our annual breakfast buffet and during that, there was a MVA. Details on both listed below.

Our Annual Breakfast Buffet turned out very nice. We had many customers throughout the morning. We would like to thank all the people who showed up to help!   Station 75, Waymart EMS, and Mobile 9 were dispatched for a reported 1 car MVA in the area of 1142 Roosevelt Highway. Chief 75 arrived on scene to find 1 vehicle off the roadway on its side, with the patient self-extricated. Rescue 75 pulled a inch and a half line for a possible fire hazard. Waymart EMS assessed the patient and cancelled Mobile 9 while they were en-route. The patient refused all medical treatment, walking away with a scratch on his finger. Unite remained on scene until Northeast Towing removed the vehicle. Click here for more pictures
 
 
Busy Week for 75!!
The week of April 13 - April 18 was a busy week for Station 75. This week there was 9 calls. These consisting of 8 brush fires and 1 MVA. Visit our call log page for more information. 
 
He did it again! Congratulations Steve!
On Monday April 14, 2008, Webmaster Steve Piotrowski was in another website competition. This one was the NEIU 19 competition held at the Career Technology Center in Scranton. Once again, Steve placed 3rd in this competition out of 20 other websites! Great job Steve!
 
CONGRATULATIONS CHIEF!!!
Today, Saturday, April 12, 2008, our fire Chief Tom Derrick passed his First Responder Class that was held at Cottage Hose Ambulance. Congrats from all of us Chief!!!
 
Training held with Companies 1 & 94
On Wednesday night (April 2, 2008), A training was held in Waymart. There were numerous operations taking place during this night. The units on this training were engine 75, rescue 75, tanker 75, Lake Ariel supply, Lake Ariel tanker, and 94 tanker.

Busy Sunday for 75
On Sunday, March 30, Station 75 ran 4 calls consisting of a possible structure fire, and 3 brush fires. Station 75 started out their Sunday morning with a possible structure fire on Gravity Street in Waymart. Luckily it ended up being a slight furnace malfunction, but everything was ok. Then, we got hit with 3 brush fires right in a row. The first one was a small field fire on Florence Street in Waymart. The second, we assisted Station 62 on the large brush fire on Salem Mountain, then the third was a small brush fire on Lake Quinn Road in South Cannan. This day brought Station 75 up to 62 calls for the year, 6 of them being brush fires. Pictures to come soon!
