On the morning of Saturday, August 1, 2009. A
violent crash on Route 296 between Stanton Drive and Elk Lake Drive
resulted in serious injuries for two people Saturday morning just
before 06:00 hours. Wayne County Communications dispatched the
rescue assignment at 05:58 hours bringing Rescue 75, Engine 43, Car
43, Waymart EMS and ALS from Cottage EMS. Upon dispatch
communications advised that due to weather conditions no medical
helicopters were available to fly due to weather conditions.
The female passenger was self
extricated with the male driver heavily entrapped. Both patients
were taken to the trauma center via ground transportation. Rescue 75
handled the extrication and removed the entrapped patient at 06:19
hours. Engine 43 handled the hazards and provided a hand line for
patient and crew protection. Deputy Chief 75 ( Lombardi) handled the
extrication while Engine Captain 43 (Ellsworth) oversaw the hazard
control. Chief 43 (Richards) had the Route 296 command. Crews
cleared the scene just before 07:00 hours. The cause of the crash is
under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police.
Station 75 and Waymart EMS were dispatched to
Ladore Lodge on South Street for an automatic fire alarm. Rescue 75
and Engine 75 responded. Crews searched building to find a broken
pull station. All units returned to service.

Fire Police 75 was dispatched to assist PSP for
traffic control while they reconstructed the scene of the MVA from
Saturday morning on Route 296 North.

Tanker 75 was dispatched along with the 3rd Alarm
drill assignment to assist Station 67 (Hamlin) on a drill at their
training center on Route 590.

Fire Police 75 was dispatched for traffic control
on Carbondale Road near the Funeral Home for a two car MVA with no
injuries.

for a car stuck in a ditch on Route 6 near Keen Lake Lodge.

Station 75 and Waymart EMS were dispatched to
South Street for a CO alarm.
August 17, 2009
Station 75, Waymart EMS, and Mobile 9 were
dispatched for a one car MVA on Hetzel Road in South Canaan.
August 18, 2009
Station 75, Waymart EMS, and Mobile 9 were
dispatched for a one car MVA on the Owego Turnpike near Lake Ladore.
One vehicle was into a tree with three patients.
August 19, 2009
Station 75 was dispatched for a smoke
investigation in the area of SCI Waymart. With multiple reports of
smoke in the area, Chief 75 requested for the SCI box alarm to be
hit and to stand by in station. Station 75 officers searched the
town for about 2 1/2 hours while there was a full crew at the
station standing by. Nothing was found and all units were put back
in service around 05:30 hrs.

on Route 6 near Rays for a tractor trailer being removed out of a
ditch.

automatic fire alarm at Wayne Woodlands Manor. All units were
cancelled directly after dispatch.

Station 75 was dispatched for a home heating oil
leak on Patterson Street in the borough. Rescue 75 responded and
mitigated the leak until Wayne County EMA and DATOM arrived on
scene.

Station 75 and Waymart EMS were dispatched for a
possible structure fire on Davitt Road. Chief 75 arrived on scene to
report a working residential structure fire.
