Apparatus History
The first
engine purchased by the Waymart
Volunteer Fire Company was a
1926 Ford Model T. This truck
went into service on December
13, 1926. This truck was in
service until 1933 when the fire
company gave the truck to the
borough.
In 1933, the
fire company purchased a new
truck. This truck being a 1932 Chevy fire engine
with a 500 gallon per minute
pump and a 150 gallon water
tank. This truck went out of
service on July 8, 1963.

The next
truck that was bought by the
fire company was a 1948, 2 ton Ford
chassis built with Ward Lafrance
equipment. This truck was in
service from 1948 to 1978,
when it was sold to a
John Warobey from Throop. There
are no pictures of this truck.
In June 1963,
the fire company bought a 1952
Chevy Tanker from Mrs. Alberta
Walsh. This truck was also sold
to
John Warobey in 1978. There are
no pictures of this truck.
In 1968, a
new 1968 International fire
truck was bought from George
Kinsman. This truck was built
with Howe Fire Apparatus
equipment on it. This equipment
was a 750 gallon, 3 stage pump
and a 750 gallon booster tank.
This truck arrived and was in
service in January 1969.
In 1976 a 1974 Kenworth
W800 went into service. This
truck had a 750 gallon per
minute pump with a 1500 gallon
water tank. This truck was in
service until December of 2007.
The next
truck was a
2500 Chevy Suburban. This truck
was in
service until 1996. It had no pump and no water tank.
It was just used to carry our
rescue tools.
In 1991, a
1978 International pickup was
bought. This truck was used for
our supply truck. It had a 750
gallon per minute pump with no water tank. This
truck was in service until 1993.
In March 1991,
a 1982 Chevy
pickup went into service as our
brush truck. This
was bought from Swade Auto in
Eynon. This truck was in service
until 1999.
The next
truck was a 1981 American
Lafrance Century that was bought
from Deer Park NY. This truck
went into service in 1993. It
has a 1500 gallon per minute
pump with a 500 gallon water
tank. This truck is still in
service.
In 1996, the
company bought a 1979 Ford C8000
Pierce, Rescue truck. This truck
had a 1000 gallon per minute
pump with a 500 gallon water
tank. This truck went in service
in September of 1996 and it was
placed out of service on May 11,
2008.
The next
truck to come was a 1989 Ford
F-250. This truck
went into service in 1999 and is
still in service today. It has a
250 gallon per minute pump with
a 125 gallon water tank.

Put into
service in 2007, a 1996/2007 Kenworth
T800, that was built by 4 Guys
Fire Apparatus into a tanker.
This truck has a 500 gallon per
minute pump with a 2500 gallon
water tank.

Next is our
new rescue truck. This is a 1989
PemFab/Ranger truck that we
purchased from Friendship Hose
Co. out of Sunbury PA. This
truck has a 1500 GPM hale pump,
a 500 gallon water tank, and a
30 gallon on-board foam tank.
This truck was put into service
on May 11, 2008.
